NASCAR & the Hall of Fame

I had the pleasure of spectating two NASCAR races, both at Daytona International Speedway for the Coke Zero 400, once before the renovation started in 2013 and once after the renovation was complete in 2016. If you ever have the chance to spectate a race, do it!

In 2013 during my first race experience there was an Australian driver, Marcus Ambrose, racing for the Richard Petty Motorsports team so we felt it was our patriotic duty to cheer him on. Watching Marcus race at Daytona was fantastic and we even ended up with his pit sign, score! I have to admit, my favourite part of any NASCAR race are the crashes. They are spectacular!ย Watch the video on my Facebook page HERE to see what I mean.

Charlotte being the home of NASCAR, is also the home of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. When I moved to North Carolina for my student exchange last year I had to go check it out, if not for myself, for my brother and father who are both fans. Needless to say it was enjoyable and I took many photos so my family could live vicariously through me.

I highly recommend the experience for any fan who enjoys NASCAR, its history or motor sport in general. I spent hours walking around taking it all in so allow half a day.ย  As my visit was in November there were no crowds but fair warning, I can only imagine how many would visit when the NASCAR race is on in May.

To inspire your visit I have included some of my favourite pictures below:

Have you been or are you planning to go? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to hear your feedback.
